Internet Saver special offer variable rate conditions

Internet Saver special offer variable rate conditions: This offer is only available for a limited period and may be withdrawn at any time. This Internet Saver special offer is available from 31st July to 5th September 2009. For qualifying Internet Saver accounts opened and funded during this special offer period, this special offer variable rate will apply for 12 months, currently 2.90% AER/gross pa, from your account opening date. Your first deposit must be between £1,000 and £500,000. If you make 4 or more withdrawals or your account falls below £1,000 or goes above £500,000, during the 12 month period, the standard Internet Saver interest rate will apply from the date of your 4th withdrawal, or the date your account falls below £1,000 or goes above £500,000 (whichever is earliest).


It's quick and easy to apply for a Sainsbury's Internet Saver account. Just have the following details ready:

  • Your personal details
  • For joint accounts: make sure you have the required information for a joint application, or use the Power of Attorney facility to open and operate an Internet Saver account
  • Your Nectar card details – by entering your card number, you could take advantage of any Nectar card promotions that may be on offer

Before you start

Please note: you must be over 18 and a UK resident to open an Internet Saver account.

For security reasons, you may find that you are 'timed-out' of the application following periods of inactivity, so it is easier if you have all the information you need before you start.

Applying is safe and secure

All the information you provide in the application process is protected by 128-bit encryption - the latest and most powerful encryption technology. So it’s impossible for anyone else to read your information unless they have the ‘key’ or password.

The gross rate is the contractual rate of interest payable before the deduction of income tax at the rate specified by law (currently 20%).AER stands for annual equivalent rate and illustrates what the interest would be if interest was paid and compounded each year. Net is the rate of interest paid after the deduction of lower rate tax at 20%. Variable interest paid annually. Withdrawals are by transfer to another account only.
