Frequently asked questions
When can you get pet insurance for a rabbit?
You can get bunny insurance for your baby rabbit when they turn eight weeks old – right up until their fifth birthday. They’ll then be covered for the rest of their life, as long as you keep renewing your policy every year without a break.
How much does pet rabbit insurance cost?
There are lots of different factors that play a part in the price of pet insurance for rabbits. It can depend on the:
- Age and breed of your rabbit
- Where you live in the country
- Level of cover too and what’s included
It’s worth remembering that paying more for cover can provide a greater number of benefits. For example, cheap rabbit insurance may not give you all the cover you need and could cost more in the long run.

This has to be your decision, but it’s definitely something worth considering if you’re a rabbit owner.
Vet bills can soon spiral if they’re not partly or fully covered by a rabbit insurance policy.

How long does a pet rabbit live?
Rabbits generally live for five to eight years, but they may live as long as twelve years.
