What is cruise travel insurance?
Whether you’re cruising around the world or setting sail across the Med, cruise holidays are great for soaking up plenty of sun, sights and culture. But it’s important to have the right travel insurance in place, just in case something happens while you’re at sea.
Our policies cover Cruise holidays as standard, but you may wish to upgrade your policy to include additional cover for cruise trips, which will incur an additional premium.
Cruise Cover provides cover for the specific activities and risks associated with cruise holidays. This includes cover if you’re confined to your cabin on the advice of a medical officer, missed shore excursions, missed port of call or denied boarding.
Why choose Sainsbury’s Bank Travel Insurance?
With our travel insurance and cruise cover you’ll get:
- Up to 20% off if you’re a Nectar member. Exclusions apply*
- Access to a 24-hour helpline in case of medical emergencies while you’re away
- Compensation if your cruise ship can’t make a scheduled port stop
- A choice between three levels of cover – Silver, Gold and Platinum
How does cruise holiday insurance work?
Available on both our Single Trip and Annual Multi- Trip policies, it’s easy to add Cruise cover before you get a quote. Just let us know at the start of your online or phone application that you need it.
We’ll tailor your plan based on how long you’re going for and the countries you’re visiting. It’s also important you let us know about any pre-existing medical conditions. If you don’t, future claims may be rejected, and payouts reduced.
Rates and cover limits vary by policy.
