Get insurance for your family holiday
You’ve booked the flights, made hotel reservations and got the kids excited. Now there’s just one more essential to take care of before you set off to enjoy the sun, sea and sand – family holiday insurance. It’ll give you peace of mind that you’re covered should anything go wrong.
With our travel insurance, we’ll help to cover the cost of medical treatment if you or a family member become ill while you’re abroad. Without it, you might need to pay out upfront, and healthcare abroad can be very expensive. So, it’s important to make sure you have the right cover in place.
Why choose Sainsbury’s Bank Travel Insurance?
With our cover you’ll get:
-
Access to a 24-hour helpline in case of medical emergencies while you’re away
-
Three levels of cover to choose from – Silver, Gold or Platinum
-
Unlimited medical expenses with Single Trip and Annual Multi-trip policies when you choose our Platinum cover
Why family travel insurance?
Travel insurance is an essential purchase for any holiday. And, whether you’re a single or two-parent family, it’s best to choose a policy that covers everyone – like ours. Just make sure you, your partner and children are named on the policy when you take it out.
No insurance policy covers every eventuality, for full details of benefits, limitations, terms and conditions, please review our policy document.
Our key benefits include:
Medical expenses
If you or a family member need any medical treatment while on holiday, we’ll help cover the cost of expenses. That includes any costs incurred if a rescue service to the hospital is needed, or repatriation home.
Trip cancellations
If your family holiday is cancelled, our travel insurance will cover the cost of non-refundable, pre-booked travel and accommodation expenses. We’ll also cover pre-booked excursions and additional costs if you need to return to the UK early.
Personal accident
If you choose Gold or Platinum cover, Personal Accident cover provides for a defined payment if you suffer from a serious injury or death as the result of an accident.
The amount of cover will depend on your age, and if you're aged 66 or over you’ll only be covered if an accident you’re involved in results in death. Some activities are not covered. Limits and exclusions apply, check your policy summary for more details.
Personal liability
This covers injury or illness to another person, or damage to their property, that’s caused by either you or another member of your family who is listed on the policy.
Some activities are not covered. Limits and exclusions apply, check your policy summary for more details.
Loss of important documents
If you lose any vital documents, like your passport, driving licence or travel documents, we’ll provide cover for the cost of temporary replacement documents.
Which policy is right for you?
The type of insurance you need will depend on your holiday plans.
Single Trip
If you’re going on one big family holiday, then our single trip travel insurance could be your best option
Annual Multi-trip
If you have multiple trips planned over the course of a year, then you might be better with an annual family travel policy
Extended trip
Are you and your family taking a longer trip? Then you can get cover for an extended period
How travel insurance works when a family member is ill
Our policies cover a wide range of pre-existing medical conditions, including epilepsy, heart conditions and asthma. It’s important that you tell us about any medical conditions when you get a quote, either online by phone, to make sure you and your family have the right cover in place. If you don’t, claims may be rejected, or payment could be reduced.
